The field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) constitutes a remarkable form of scientific and technological progress, which can provide considerable social benefits by improving living conditions and health, facilitating justice, improving economy, bolstering public safety and many more. Likewise in Pakistan, competent AI professionals are required that can use their knowledge and skills to build intelligent systems for use in healthcare, agriculture, security, education, defense and other numerous areas thereby transforming the economy.

The MS program in AI was launched at NED University from spring semester 2021 under the auspices of Computer and Information Systems Engineering Department. The key objective of this program was to promote an innovative and analytical thinking ability in the professionals by offering state-of-the-art courses in the curriculum. In view of the prevailing great demand of AI expertise in diversified areas, the program received a warm response from the graduates of different relevant disciplines. However to keep it at par with the challenging requirements of different sectors of society and also the global development of AI, the department leadership is committed to timely revision of the syllabus.
