MS(DEIM)

There is an ever-increasing appetite of high quality and up to date information for decision making in the modern competitive and highly volatile business environment. This situation necessitates the use of flexible as well as user-friendly tools for efficiently and effectively meeting the needs of organizations.

Data Engineering involves the designing, building and managing of the information as a big-data infrastructure. It provides an architecture that helps analyze and process data in the way the organization needs it. After building the big-data infrastructure, the next major task involves the design and development of state-of-the-art information systems over it. The curriculum for information management integrates elements of management, computing, and information science to address critical social, economic, legal, and policy challenges associated with supporting information use by individuals and organizations. Likewise in Pakistan, skilled data engineering professionals are required that are able to harness the combined knowledge of data engineering and information systems management to build intelligent and effective solutions in healthcare, agriculture, security, education, defense and other numerous areas thereby transforming the economy.

The MS program in DEIM was launched at NED University from fall semester 2016 under the auspices of Computer and Information Systems Engineering Department. The key objective of this program is to promote an innovative and analytical thinking ability in the professionals by offering state-of-the-art courses in the curriculum. In view of the prevailing great demand of data engineering expertise in diversified areas, the program received a warm response from the graduates of different relevant disciplines. The graduates of this program are currently serving in well-reputed national and international organizations.
